This Weeks Tip: Invisable Fencing... Does not work on all dogs. Trust me on this one!
Previous Weeks Tips:
Baby Carrots make a great lo-cal treat for dogs.
Fly paper; If you let your birds fly around for exercise, turn off ceiling fans and take down fly paper. Horror stories....!
Putting used cat litter (minus the poop) around trees and gardens can keep deer away. (So I've heard!)
Acne: Did you know that cats can develop acne? If you see raised bumps on your cat's chin, se your vet!
Most Caged Birds are from tropical climates. If you must keep the heat down in your home, put your birds in a sunny room, free of drafts.
Jing-a-ling-a-ling: No, it's not Christmas bells. It's those noisiy metal tags on the collar. Rubber tag holders are available at most pet stores. Check it out.
Muddy Paw Season: It's just around the corner! Leave your sitter plenty of towels to wipe off paws. A damp towel is a plus to remove salt from sensitive paws and keep carpets clean.
Dieting? Are you "free feeding" your dog or cat Fit & Trim? Why?? Defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Measured quantities twice a day ( or what your Vet recommends) is your best bet.
Pilling a Cat: It's easy to give a dog a pill. Put in in a piece of cheese or eat and it's gone! Cats are a whole different sotry. Tip: open mouth, insert pill in the back of throat, gently puff once or twice on his face (like blowing out a candle). The puff induces swallowing. Try it.
Get Involved: If you see or even think an animal is being abused, call the police or your local Humane Society. Don't turn the other cheek.
Stinky ears: Pawing, rubbing, stinky.... classic signs of an ear infection. See your Vet ASAP.
